On November 16th, my unit and I engaged in our annual turkey football game practice. While executing a sharp right turn during the morning session, my left leg unexpectedly became immobile, resulting in a tear to both my ACL and meniscus. Consequently, I found myself unable to bear weight on my left leg and was promptly transported to the emergency room for medical attention. My passion for cycling, engaging in various sports, riding my motorcycle, and running has always been a significant part of my life. Additionally, I have successfully completed 17 marathons and aspire to conquer all 50 states in the future. Participating in these events has bestowed upon me a profound sense of purpose within my Marine Corps career. It signifies that not even a debilitating injury can hinder my commitment to remaining physically active and participating in such remarkable occasions.
