Major Christman has served in the United States Marine Corps for over 16 years with 5 years and four months of overseas time deploying in combat, joint tours, and multi-lateral security cooperation exercises in over 30 countries on 5 different continents. As a Combat Engineer Officer she was humbled to serve her Marines and Sailors at various levels of command to include Platoon Commander, Construction Platoon, MWSS-172 Okinawa; Detachment OIC and Camp Commandant for Exercise Talon Vision ’09, MWSS-171, Philippines; Detachment Commander for Cambodia Interoperability Program and Engineer Civic Action Projects ’09, MWSS-172; Airfield Operations Company Acting Company Commander, MWSS-172; Headquarters and Services Company Commander, 8th ESB; and Bridge Company Commander, 8th ESB. As a General Officer’s Staff Engineer, Major Christman had many diverse opportunities to serve and advise the most senior of leaders on the 3d MEB, 2d MEB, 5th MEB/TF-51/5 staffs during operations and multi-lateral exercises globally. Some of her career highlights include serving as the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, Dave “Smoke” Beydler; her combat deployment ISO of Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan as the Theater Route Clearance OIC and first female to lead the route clearance mission for United States Forces – Afghanistan; her joint deployment ISO Operation Enduring Freedom to Djibouti as the Deputy Engineer and the Program Manager for Humanitarian Assistance and Civic Assistance with Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa; and her Operational Planner tour with the Department of Plans, Policies, and Operations at Headquarters Marine Corps, Pentagon where she served as the Lead Pacific Posture Planner for the Distributed Laydown Complement/DPRI Operational Planning Team, the Marine Corps’ Lead Planner for the COVID-19 Pandemic Response and Continuity of Global Operations OPT, the Service’s Lead IJSTO Planner, and the War Plans and Posture Planner for the Iran Portfolio. She is the proud Marine wife of LtCol Melissa A. DePriest, Commanding Officer of MALS-39, and proud mother of their son, Archer Brier Christman-DePriest.
