My life turned after my daughter was diagnosed with autism. My husband and I were dual military and the dual lifestyle of caregiving as well as serving was not compatible. I beat myself up for months because I was falling short from giving my daughter 100% and the Marine Corps 100%. The decision fell into my hands on which was most important but the decision was harder than it sounds; sadly. Although my command did everything to support, my spouses leadership at the time told my husband I had to figure it out alone. So I decided to retire. After 10 months of being retired it has been the best decision I have ever made. My passion for the Marine Corps is still in my every step and daily routine. I would not be who I am and where I am without Wounded Warrior!
