Back in Aug 2021, I contracted Covid, while on recruiting duty with RS Raleigh. A few days later, I was admitted into the hospital due to Covid complications in regard to my oxygen levels, where I spent a month in the hospital trying to recover. Upon discharge, I was told I came in with 75% bilateral pneumonia caused by the virus, and if I waited a few hours, I would not have survived. Upon checking into Wounded Warrior BN east, I was still utilizing a portable Oxygen tank, as well as a walker to assist myself with being able to walk (due to muscle loss) and having to take breaks after few steps. This not only affected me physically, but as well as mentally as I was able to do all the things with my family, my poolees, and my Marines. Coming here to the BN was in my best interest as it allowed me to be able to put myself first, and trust others to assist me in getting to my goals. Upon Discharge, I would not expect to be where I am, and while I am still affected with my breathing, I have been able to condition myself to my new normal life.
