Edward J Farnon

Electronics Technician Second Class Edward “Eddie” Farnon joined the Navy to continue his family’s legacy of military service. While on deployment overseas, he had a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and separated his shoulder. In the midst of his recovery process, his Navy Wounded Warrior care team at Naval Medical Center San Diego suggested he try adaptive sports at an intro camp. Farnon attended his first camp in January 2023.

“It’s helped me so much,” he said. “While, there, I learned new ways to do certain sports, like riding a bicycle or swimming, which I struggled with before. I’m most proud of being able to learn to ride a bicycle! The dedicated coaches stood by me and never gave up on me.”

At the 2024 Warrior Games, Farnon will compete in cycling, field, and swimming.
