In the wake of enduring a life-altering event- being shot in the neck and chest and grappling with a subsequent diagnosis of PTSD- my trajectory in the Marine Corps shifted. In April of 2023, I was transferred to Wounded Warrior Battalion West, seeking refuge and support in my journey toward healing and recovery.
The transformative embrace of the program has helped me create enduring bonds with coaches and fellow athletes who share the challenges of navigating wounds, injury, and illnesses. Their support and camaraderie have not only enriched my life but have also propelled me towards personal growth and empowerment.
As I embark on this new chapter, participating in trails for the first time, I’m filled with anticipation and eagerness to embrace this opportunity. It’s a chance to test my limits and celebrate the resilience alongside fellow athletes.
