Hospital Corpsman First Class Johnathan “Boz” Boswell (ret.) enlisted in June 2002 and served until September 2023. During the course of his 21 years with the Navy, he worked and deployed alongside Marines for most of his career. He got involved in the adaptive sports program at the urging of his Navy Wounded Warrior Recovery Care Coordinator at Camp Lejeune, HMC Adam Martin, who wanted him to get back out into the world.
“Adaptive sports has helped me realize I’m not alone in this fight,” he said. “It’s helped me be able to connect with new friends and reconnect with old one.”
Boswell and his fellow Navy teammate Vincent Falcetta were previously stationed together and had a chance to reconnect during Navy Wounded Warrior’s adaptive sports camps.
Indeed, adaptive sports has encouraged Boswell to get back into the world. Outside of sports, Boswell enjoys hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
During the 2024 Warrior Games, Boswell will compete in cycling, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, and track.
