Abdulrahman Ibn Asadullah

Fire Control Technician Second Class Abdulrahman “Abdul” Ibn Asadullah was born and raised in San Diego, Calif. In a Cambodian-Mexican-American family. He joined the Navy to serve his country and add some stability to his life. He served on the U.S.S. Kentucky submarine and went on multiple deployments and even participated in some launching system tests.

Ibn Asadullah returned home to San Diego after a tragic accident resulted in the amputation of his left arm below the elbow. He is still serving through the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in Point Loma. He connected with the Navy Wounded Warrior office based in the Naval Medical Center San Diego and they helped his family create a plan to adjust to his new normal. His care pointed him to the adaptive sports program and he attended his first camp in November 2023. Now part of Team Navy, Ibn Asadullah represents his country and his service branch in a whole new way.

During the 2024 Warrior Games, Ibn Asadullah will compete in archery, field, sitting volleyball, and wheelchair rugby.
