Master at Arms First Class David Fuller began participating in Navy Wounded Warrior’s adaptive sports program in 2024. He comes to camp ready to live out loud every day, with a contagious energy that buoys the spirits of his fellow athletes.
His healing journey had many bumps along the way, but his trajectory is upward. He is two years sober and doing the hard work of bettering himself after his history of emotional abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, and military sexual trauma. He’ll be getting married less than a month after the 2024 Warrior Games end and their first child is due in December.
“I am finally in a place in my life that I can truly say I’m a better man for my children and family. I am so grateful to be apart of the NWW Adaptive Sports Team and to have my fiancée as my non-medical attendant. We truly feel it has been a blessing and most importantly we have met amazing friends that we call family.”
At the 2024 Warrior Games, Fuller will compete in archery, field, powerlifting, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby.
