Hospital Corpsman Third Class Johnathan “JP” Paige (ret.) enlisted in 2017 and served at both the Marine Expeditionary Force and the Naval Medical Center at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He worked in emergency and intensive care, as well as in tactical field care settings.
While on limited duty status, a fellow shipmate encouraged him to enroll in Navy Wounded Warrior and its adaptive sports program because it was so transformative for him. Paige agreed, and his first sports camp was the 2023 Team Trials, where he was ultimately invited to join Team Navy. Later that year, Paige medically retired and he returns in 2024 as a veteran.
“Being a corpsman was everything to me and I miss it, but I’m glad I have the opportunity to be a part of the Navy team. Through my journey of recovery, I’ve met a lot of amazing individuals and heard amazing stories. I’ve been given many opportunities and met amazing mentors who changed my life. Though it may seem dark at times, things will always get better. I’ve learned it’s okay to open up and depend on the people who care about you. Never give up on yourself.”
At the 2024 Warrior Games, Paige will compete in archery, shooting, and track.
