A proud Arkansan, Naval Aircrewman Operator Second Class Levi Moore (ret.) joined the Navy in 2013. In this role, he crunched numbers for hours to track submarines, and he has a soft spot for the C-130 Hercules. But his real passion lies in restoring old vehicles, so much so that he dubbed himself a “car rescuer.” Moore also very family-oriented. His nieces and nephews see him as the cool uncle with the fast cars and trucks, and he can’t wait to turn wrenches with a child of his own someday.
Moore’s life took an unexpected turn after a motorcycle accident. In the course of his recovery, he connected with Navy Wounded Warrior and Navy adaptive sports.
“The Navy Wounded Warrior program has really shown me that I am not broken and that I am capable of a lot more in life than what I had ever previously thought,” he said.
Moore earned several medals in the 2023 Warrior Games Challenge before his medical retirement. In 2024, he will compete in cycling, shooting, swimming, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby.
