Retired Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Chris Garcia joined the Navy in 2015 because he wanted to experience the world, meet different types of people, and travel to different countries to learn about new cultures. He earned two Navy Achievement Awards and six Flag Letters of Commendation, went underway with the 5th and 7th Fleets, and served on the USNS Comfort hospital ship on a humanitarian mission to South America. After he lost his leg and his medical condition changed, his support system directed him to Navy Wounded Warrior’s adaptive sports program. He attended multiple camps in 2025 and began to see new capabilities he had not considered before. In his free time, Garcia loves pickleball, bowling, golf, and outdoor recreation. His new favorite adaptive sport is Wheelchair Basketball.
