William Delmer

Fire Controlman Aegis Petty Officer 2nd Class Will Delmer joined the U.S. Navy in 2020 to travel, experience new cultures, and take advantage of educational opportunities. His path was unexpectedly redirected when his condition interrupted his career. As Navy Wounded Warrior began preparing him for a smooth transition into the next chapter in life, his care team suggested adaptive sports for his recovery care plan. He was eager to meet others facing similar experiences to his own. During an intro camp in November 2025, Delmer discovered a new love for wheelchair rugby. The game’s competitive nature and animated dynamics scratched an itch. He has been putting in the time to train and do the deep work of reclaiming his agency because he knows that every day is a new chance to improve, even incrementally, on and off the field.
