Machinist’s Mate Petty Officer 1st Class Jasmine Jew is a returning athlete, having competed in the 2025 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she earned a Gold Medal in the Swim Relay. Jew enlisted in 2006 to be part of something that mattered and demonstrate that she does not back down from hard things. She served with pride and gave her all, but over time, she faced physical injuries, chronic pain, and developed neurological symptoms that chipped away at her sense of self such that she couldn’t face it alone. Navy Wounded Warrior helped her realize that separation from service is not the end of her story, but the start of a new fight to heal and reclaim purpose. Jew’s favorite event is archery, a sport that taught her how to be still amid chaos. With bow in hand, her chronic pain and neurological symptoms quiet, and only controlled breathing and focus matter. Top marks don’t go to the strongest or the fastest, but to the most disciplined. Archery is more than a sport for her, it’s resilience training and therapy that restores her sense of confidence, peace, and accomplishment. Away from competition, Jew’s greatest joy comes from spending time with family, sharing quiet moments in peace and laughter. Surrounded by her people, she is reminded that strength comes from connection, love, and small victories every day.
