Corey Nowell

Msgt Corey Nowell has been serving in the United States Air Force with 21 years of dedicated service and works as an Outbound Cargo Technician. Throughout his career, Champ has been driven by a passion for leadership and mentorship, with his proudest role serving as a First Sergeant guiding Airmen through personal and professional challenges and celebrating their growth and achievement along the way. Experiencing adaptive sports for the first time in 2023 at Joint Base Andrews during an Air Force Wounded Warrior event, adaptive sports became more than just physical activity but a steady path back to structure, focus, and forward momentum. Through competition and consistent training, he has been able to replace frustration and doubt with discipline, purpose, and resilience. More importantly, adaptive sports gave him a sense of belonging again. Representing Team Air Force for a second time at the Department of Warrior Games, is both a marker of progress and a continuation of the work. Competing at this level reflects not only how far he has come, but also his commitment to keep pushing- physically, mentally, and personally. Along the way, he values the bonds formed with teammates and fellow competitors across all service branches, each carrying their own story but united in purpose.
