SrA (ret) Crystal Creek served 5 years in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces Defender, dedicating her time in service to protecting others and upholding mission readiness. She joined the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program in 2024 and attended her first event earlier this year at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. That experience marked a pivotal moment in her recovery, introducing her to adaptive sports which have played a transformative role in Crystal’s journey. Through training, she not only rediscovered her physical strength but also gained a deeper understanding of her resilience. What once felt uncertain became empowering pushing her to keep going, challenge herself, and find joy in the process. More than anything, adaptive sports reminded her that strength still exists within her, and that recovery can be both powerful and fulfilling. Competing in the Department of Defense Warrior Games as a member of Team Air Force represents the camaraderie she values most. For Crystal, it’s about being part of a team that uplifts, motivates, and pushes one another to succeed despite shared challenges.
