Nicole Favuzza

SMSgt Nicole Favuzza has been serving in the United States Air Force with 16 years of service in the intelligence career field. Throughout her career, Nikki has demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience, and dedication to mission—qualities that continue to define her journey. She joined the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program in 2018, with her first event being the Air Force Trials in 2019. Since then, adaptive sports have remained a constant in her recovery, serving as a powerful tool for healing and growth. Through training and competition, Nikki found a sense of purpose during uncertainty and regained confidence during one of the most challenging periods of her life. Her journey through cancer reshaped her perspective, but adaptive sports helped her move beyond survival and into a place of strength, resilience, and forward momentum. Sports have also opened many doors for her such as giving her the opportunity to represent Team US at the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf. Competing in the Department of Defense Warrior Games as a member of Team Air Force is both an honor and a responsibility. She represents not only herself, but her family, her teammates, and everyone who stood beside her throughout her fight. Standing alongside fellow recovering service members who understand adversity at its core, Nicole draws strength from the shared bond and collective resilience that defines the Warrior Games community.
