Stephen Lorenzo

MSgt Stephen Lorenzo serves in the Hawaii Air National Guard bringing more than 30 years of service to the United States Air Force in the RF Transmission career field, currently assigned as the Quality Assurance Section Chief with the 298th Support Squadron at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. Stephen began his Air Force journey in 1995 with the 293rd Combat Communications Squadron as an RF Communications specialist, deploying in support of Operation Cobra Gold. He later expanded his operational expertise as a Surveillance Technician before returning to his RF roots with the 169th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron at Mt. Kaala. There, he served in key leadership roles, including NCOIC and Section Chief, shaping mission readiness and mentoring the next generation of Airmen. Today, he leverages decades of experience to ensure mission effectiveness while continuing to serve with purpose and vision. He joined the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program in November 2024, and following open-heart surgery, adaptive sports became a cornerstone of his recovery, restoring a sense of purpose and direction. Training gave him more than just a physical outlet, it gave him a mission. It allowed him to reclaim his identity as an athlete and channel his focus into growth, competition, and forward momentum. For Stephen, competing in the Department of Defense Warrior Games as a member of Team Air Force it is all about the experience rooted in connection—the bonds formed, the support shared, and the collective drive to push one another forward. It’s not just about performance; it’s about showing up for the team, honoring the journey, and giving everything he has in the process.
