Johnny Nunnes

MSgt Johnny Nunnes has been serving in the United States Air Force for 19 years across multiple roles including as a Security Forces Defender, Instructor, and Air Advisor Team Leader. His career reflects commitment to leadership, mentorship, and preparing others for high-stake environments. Due to PTSD and a TBI, Johnny found himself enrolled in the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program where he attended an event earlier this year at Joint Base San Antonio- Randolph and was introduced to adaptive sports which became a proving ground for him. He’s spent the past few months training, rebuilding resilience, and sharpening his focus. As a first-time competitor representing Team Air Force for the Department of War Warrior Games, for Johnny it’s all about testing limits, measuring progress on his recovery journey, and standing on a stage that reflects how far he’s come. Beyond that it’s about impact, showing his children and others facing adversity that setbacks are not the end of the story.
