Christopher Dorough

Lt Col (ret) Christopher Dorough commissioned into the United States Air Force in 2002, as a Mobility Pilot leading aircrews and supporting missions around the globe. He flew the C-12 and built a distinguished 23-year career highlighted by worldwide operations, leading aircrews into combat, and serving as a military attaché representing the United States abroad. During one of the most challenging periods of his life following a stage IV cancer diagnosis, adaptive sports became a turning point in his recovery after attending an event with the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program. He found not only enjoyment in life again, but also a strong, supportive community. Training and competition have significantly improved his physical and mental health, helping him become stronger and more resilient than ever before. As a second-time competitor representing Team Air Force competing at the Department of War Warrior Games, Christopher values the deep bonds formed through months of training alongside fellow recovering service members. For him, this experience is about resilience, shared purpose, and the unwavering support of family, friends, and teammates who understand the journey.
